Kyrgyzstan’s Tour Operators Connect with Asia at ITB Asia 2024
Kyrgyzstan’s tour operators are seizing an opportunity to engage with the Asian travel market at ITB Asia 2024. This major tourism exhibition, currently underway in Singapore, offers a key platform to promote Central Asian tourism.
According to the Kyrgyzstan Tourism Development Fund, tourist numbers from Singapore to Kyrgyzstan have risen significantly. The influx has surged by 1.5 times over the past year, showing growing interest in Central Asian destinations.
This year, ten tour operators from Kyrgyzstan are showcasing their offerings. This marks a rise from just four participants in 2022, signaling an increased focus on Kyrgyzstan as a top choice for Asian travelers.
Visitors to the Kyrgyzstan booth also enjoyed a live cultural performance. Musician Chynar Chomoeva played traditional Kyrgyz tunes, “Besh Yrgay” and “Kara Zhorgo,” on the violin. This display of music highlighted the nation’s rich cultural heritage.
Additionally, a key meeting took place during the event. It included Oliver Chong, Executive Director of the Singapore Tourism Board, Maksat Usubaliev, Director of Kyrgyzstan’s Tourism Department, and Saltanat Midin, President of the Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators (KATO). Members of the Tourism Development Fund also joined the discussion, which focused on strengthening tourism relations and exploring collaboration between Kyrgyzstan and Singapore.
Kyrgyzstan’s participation at ITB Asia 2024 showcases the country’s commitment to expanding its reach in the Asian market. By increasing its visibility, Kyrgyzstan hopes to attract more international visitors who wish to explore its natural beauty and cultural diversity.
